Wave after wave of sound
Inside each cabinet, an impressive setup of drivers works to form sound wave after powerful sound wave. The intelligent driver design includes 2 bass/midrange drivers with ICP cones and at least one 25mm (1") high-frequency driver with a PTD dome and neodymium magnets. In addition, the subwoofer contains a 210mm (8") bass driver with a fiber-reinforced cone and a 38mm (1-1/2") voice coil with an oversized magnet. Hardworking driver technology operates behind the scenes to create the sound you crave.

The lowdown on cones
Each speaker's bass/midrange driver contains 2 injection-molded co-polymer polypropylene ICP bass/midrange cones. As the unsung heroes of your sound system, they create middle- to low-frequency sound waves amazingly well and with a consistency you're sure to appreciate. The cones fill in the middle of the frequency spectrum, giving the sound its fullness and depth. While the cones don't steal the spotlight, you'd sure notice if they weren't there to make up the middle ground.

Protection against poor images
Placement is important if you want to create an acoustically correct sound setup. You don't want a speaker that lacks magnetic shielding to put limits on your placement options. This system's L/R bookshelf and center-channel speakers include MagneShield, a strong form of magnetic shielding, to prevent magnetic fields from interfering with images on nearby CRT screens. MagneShield lets you place this system's speakers near your television or video monitor without worrying about picture shake or image warping.

Sound in the making
These speakers boast excellent construction that contributes to their responsive, low-distortion sound. The subwoofer sports high-velocity, low-noise ports and high-density hardboard enclosures for clean, tight bass performance.
