NERVE AUDIO - PH 1.1 BLACK - PHONO PREAMP

New Nerve Audio PH 1.1 Phono Preamp in Black Finish. Nerve Audio is proud to present the newly upgraded PH1.1 phono preamp in BLACK. New features include larger cutouts around the RCA connectors in order to allow for larger interconnects commonly found on boutique audiophile cables. We also added a binding post style ground lug, to accommodate ground turntable grounding wires. Apart from a few minor modifications, the PH-1.1 still boasts the original specs and performance of the prior PH-1 phono stage which include ultra low noise and built in RIAA equalization.

At the time Nerve Audio started the original PH-1 Phonostage design, there were few, if any, good quality yet inexpensive phonostages on the market. With this considered, Nerve Audio decided to design a new phonostage for two markets. One focused on the custom installation market, in order to provide a low cost, high quality solution for retrofitting turntables in the growing home theater market. The other as a low cost solution for the budget minded audiophile looking for quality and performance. The performance of the PH-1 and now the PH-1.1 rival phonostages costing much more. The low profile in-line design allows for installation in confined spaces as well as behind existing equipment

The Nerve Audio PH-1.1 Moving Magnet phono stage was designed by Jeff Boccaccio. The PH-1.1 represents our statement about the quality value cross point. Designed for the custom installer and budget conscious audiophile. The slimline, black metal case can be easily hidden behind a theater system for seamless integration, but is a cosmetic edition to any audiophile system. The PH-1.1 will easily match performance found on phonostages in the $250-$350 price range. Solid construction, minimalist circuit and low profile design. We feel that the custom installation markets will embrace this product while needing to retrofit turntables in home theater systems that are not equipped with a phonostage in the preamp or receiver. Virtually all receivers less than $800.00 have no phono preamp or phono input ability. A standard Aux input has no phono cartridge specific gain or RIAA equalization.

Analog Planet PH 1.1 Phono Preamp Review

The Nerve preamp is the one that caught
me by surprise. Thatís because I knew that
the Moon 110LP was but a slightly refined
version of the older LP3, which was a terrific
bargain weíve recommended warmly.
Unless the Simaudio engineers had screwed
up, its successor had to be at least as good.
And they didnít screw up, so no surprise.
Which brings us to the Nerve.
Contrary to what you might think, itís
not the cheapest phono preamplifier available.
You can actually land a serviceable
phono preamp for about $30, though frankly
that would be $30 wasted. With a $100
preamp you can waste over three times as
much, right?
No, in fact, and thereís the surprise.
The Nerve doesnít suffer from the very thin
lows or screechy highs that are hallmarks
of the typical low-cost phono stage (and all
phono stages that are much over 30 years
old). It delivers a reasonable representation
of whatís on the LP. At this price? Wow!
