Most phono cartridges and turntables come with very basic, poorly made phono leads. Now is the time to upgrade the connection between your phono cartridge and tonearm wires! The Nerve Audio phono leads use silk-wrapped Litz OFC (oxygen-free high-purity copper) wire that is soldered to machined (from solid brass stock) 14K gold-plated connector. This connector has a split down both sides, which enables the connector to "open up" and slide over the phono cartridge and headshell pins. This produces a very firm and positive connection; these connectors will not come loose over time. These metal connectors are not the "low cost folded over" type that are used on many name-brand phono leads in the $20 to $40 range!
